Short Barbel Gudgeon

The short barbel gudgeon features a slender, elongated body that is laterally compressed with a rounded belly, growing larger than its slender counterpart. Its mouth is notably large, extending to the front edge of its eyes, and is adorned with a pair of barbels. The pelvic fins are nearly the same as the dorsal fins, with the pelvic fins being small and almost triangular. This species inhabits slow-moving rivers, lakes, and swamps, often swimming in schools.
