Ross Sea

If coming from either Elysion or eastern Valencia, one cannot enter the Great Ocean without going through the Ross Sea.

Regardless of the direction of entry, all compasses cease working upon arriving within its waters. Therefore, many sailors make sure to take note the direction to Margoria before entering the Ross Sea. The erratic land formations underwater in this area greatly increases the risk of shipwreck.
