Ribbon Eel

Description

Known as the "Black Phase" for its jet-black body and bright yellow dorsal fin, this fish can be found all over—among coral reefs, rocky outcrops, and sandy-pebble bottoms along the coast. It usually keeps to shallow waters, hiding in cracks or burrows with just its head poking out, anywhere from the surface down to 60 m deep.
