## Summary

Day ... of Year ... She, who lost her parents at an early age,
had given to me a maehwa pot that she'd received as a keepsake from her mother.
It reminded me of my own mother, who had passed away long ago,
I was engulfed by wave after wave of grief.
Seolhwa... I prayed that wherever she was,
she would never lose that beautiful smile of hers.
Day... of Year... Engrossed in a book that I barely managed to get my hands on,
I hadn't realized that several days had passed.
Tripping over my own feet, I hurried to see Seolhwa but she refused to show me
her face. What can I do to get through to her? I must try and write her a poem today...
A single backwards flower would leave us perplexed
Yet I see that all the flowers on the maehwa tree have bloomed face down
I stood under the tree to see why this could be
Only then did the flowers raise their heads to reveal their true feelings to me
