## Objective

Sometimes, It's Better to Just Listen

After being horribly burned by my first love, I felt lost for a while. I spent my nights drinking and yelling in the streets.. Food and drink had no appeal to me, and all I felt was hate and loathing. My parents tried to console me, saying that new love can mend a broken heart. Yet even they had just about given up on me, when a man approached me in my wretched state.

He was an artist. He was somewhat gruff, but he always drew me with such dedication, and moved me with his honesty. He did have one fatal flaw though. Whenever I tried to talk to him about my problems, he would always be critical and was so focused on trying to find a solution he wouldn't just let me talk. I understood his good intentions, yet he could not understand that sometimes all I wanted was to be consoled, and heard.

He was a good man, but this part of him wore me down.
