When the Manshaum hunt this bird, they call out "Ferrina! Ferrina!" and thus it was named. The species is known as Ferri, with the females being called Ferrina. Compared to the male Ferrica, Ferrinas are smaller and plainly feathered.
Though often targeted due to their smaller size, their population is significantly greater than Ferrica. This is because Ferrinas are much more active during the mating season, exposing them to hunters and predators. However, they have developed superior hearing and vision compared to Ferricas, allowing them to handle almost any attack.
Due to their fierce nature, they are hard to domesticate. However, the Ganelle have managed to build a rapport with them and use them as mounts instead of horses.
