Myth or Treasure?
Ebott
Objective
On Oben Island, you heard from McCulley how he fought off the pirates who came to this island, and he heard about the story of the ancient civilization before the attack. But McCulley NPC Knowledge says the story is all rubbish and it's probably better to look for treasure. Go to Dunde Island.
Find out about the treasure on Dunde Island;

You're welcome here as long as you're not a pirate or a marine!
Although I guess I have no choice if the marine want to build their post here...
Even so, this place is like my home,
and it won't feel nice to get kicked out of your own house, right?
So I was just trying to make sure you're not a marine.
I've seen a lot of marine ships going from island to island these days.
I think they're preparing to face the pirates...
But I feel like the marines are missing out on something.
I think so anyway, because some pirates once tried to invade this island!
I fought them off, but I noticed that they were looking for something.
I'm not sure if you know this, but there used be a large island here but it sank
and this island and Daton Island is all that is left of it.
I overheard the pirates talking before I attacked them that they believe that
the reason the island sand is because a powerful monster sank the glorious ancient civilization to the bottom of the ocean.
The pirates seem to call the event the Lost Night, and they seem to be looking for something related to it.
That's what I think, at least.
There's no reason to be obsessed with whether the story is true though.
A lot of people have lost their lives pursuing such myths
so why don't you leave all of this behind and visit Dunde Island instead?
I heard there's treasure there. Isn't that more worthwhile of your time?

Dialogue (Alt)
I don't think the pirates are after Port Epheria.
They're looking for something...
Well, aren't you convinced by my story?
