Objective

Ashlynn NPC Knowledge says the white souls of the Fadus consumed in ashen winds are needed to weaken the Eye of Desolation. Collect the White Souls of the Fadus.

※ Refer to the "Caphras's Journal NPC Knowledge Item" knowledge to craft the Eye of Desolation.
※ If you lose the Eye of Anguish, you can obtain another one from Laura Einel of the Ash Forest.

Collect White Souls from the consumed Fadus;Hand over the Eye of Desolation to Ashlynn;

It's good to see you after such a long time,
and yet, I never thought I'd see you drenched in such ominous, dark energy.
The Eye of Desolation...? Where did you ever find such an item!
Uh... I need to dilute its power immediately.
The Blackstar's fall didn't bring ruin just to this forest.
Those poor Fadus of Loopy Tree Forest...
Unfortunately, they too were completely consumed!
However, I'm sure deep within their subconscious, therein lies their White Soul...
Collect the White Souls of those poor Fadus.
It be the only way to bring peace to their troubled souls.
